“I don’t seek myself as subject, stupid project; only things and others are found. Among these, a little less thing and much less other, is my body”
I have worked with the immediacy of my surroundings for some time now. Each painting is the encounter between two variables: my bodily capacities, and the situation they compose with. I have yet to find a distance between the body painted and the body painting.
The show organized itself around the painting of my partner watching a film. I took the watching-body as the limit point between passivity and activity; the interval, variable itself, between an image received and an image produced. I seem to spend most of my time in this interval; a painting is a way out, giving it a body of its own.
